Exciting New Cultural Stream – Background Stories - Folklore, Fables, Legends,

Some of our mailing list have expressed interest in a deeper understanding of mythology/legend stories which underpin culture and drive certain differences. We tested the advice and found a niche, so Wallace Line will start to research and publish The Folklore Tracts (short stories), which delve into the background and history of great cultural stories, myths, fables, legends and religions. This is only a start, as when we looked at how we would do this and tested the water, the scope quickly grew (as well as overlapping in many cases and at different points) and it is now a very large undertaking. Our list currently stands at over 6,700 separate entities across 52 separate cultures/countries/religions. Our plan is to produce these tracts in an encyclopaedic research paper approach. To achieve this we are calling for interested writers/parties to assist us in submitting stories. We will review them to ensure a strict adherence to not be seen as proselyting or painting a one-sided view point, and to put these into a standard format & style. The author will be credited with their work and 30% of sales will be passed onto the author. We know this is only 30 cents (see table below) but it will be for every sale - in perpetuity, as long as the pamphlet is listed on Amazon. The arrangement will be covered by a short and simple Letter of Agreement, signed by both parties. The Tracts will be for sale on Amazon for only USD 0.99 each. So the breakdown per sale will be: • Amazon KDP 65 % - 64 cents - we know outrageous, but what can you do? • Writer 30% - 30 cents per sale (in perpetuity!) • Wallace Line 5% - 5 cents (covers editing, formating, publishing) We understand that this appears cheap, but with experience in the new world of self- publishing on Amazon KDP - this will be set our initial offer price. We will (with the author) periodically review the sales price taking note of the elasticity of demand for the works - for example if you, the owner of the Tract, wants to set the price as USD5 then we will accept that. A long term idea will be to collate all under a specific religion, culture and/or country. Purchasers of individual books from our other lines, the Country Guides, can obtain copies of the ‘connected’ new tracts at a greatly reduced charge (provided proof of purchase of those guides).
